THE ''EVERYTHING" TREE
STAND
I made this tree stand back in the 1980's,
and it's still solid. Living in a very small house at the time, I
needed a TV stand and a place to put my plants. I'll show you how
to put it all together.
THIS TREE STAND IS FOR SALE.

OFFICE COMPUTER DESK WITH
MATCHING SHELVES
I used this computer desk
for years until I grew out of it. Just have too many computer
gadgets now. I had to "prune" the back to fit the monitor so
I had some more desk top area. Underneath is a place for the
computer tower, and a slide out drawer for a scanner or printer, with
bottom shelf for more stuff . One thing about this "airy" desk,
it's easy to plug stuff into your computer.
DESK AND SHELF ARE FOR
SALE.

ASHTRAY & INCENSE BURNER
This slice of poplar log is routered out and
has a metal insert. A hole has been drilled at the proper angle so
that when stick incense is inserted the ashes fall directly into the
metal insert. |
|

|
TRINKET/JEWELRY BOXES
Made from a slice of pine branch, some boxes
have leather hinges, some metal hinges, and some swivel open.
|
|
 |
PINE FRAMES
This picture frame has birch bark and twigs
applied to a stained pine frame.
We have twig parts and pieces, birch bark,
half-sawn twigs, half-sawn pine cones, and other parts for you to create
your own unique frames. |
|
 |
PINE FRAMES
This pine frame has trees and a moose burned
on the bottom half of the frame. The boards that were used have
natural rustic edges. |
|

|
CANDLE HOLDERS
Made from pine branches, holes have been
drilled to accommodate scented tea candles. |
|

|
CAT TAILS
These cattails will never fall apart, and
are good for outdoor decorations. |
|

|
NAUTICAL CLOCK
Made from a slice of a large pine tree with
a working clock. I made this for my boyfriend who has a cabin on a
lake, so I "burned" in a map of the lake. Instead of using the
regular clock numbers, I continued the nautical theme by using North -
South - East - West as the clock numbers, which are also burned into the
wood. And it's still ticking!

 |
PINE FRAME
These needles will
never turn brown. I used real pine cones cut in half. |
|
 |
BUILT-IN CABINET
One good thing about making a built-in
cabinet is that you don't have to make sides or a back! Just
attach some hard board. The
backboard has pine needles burned on, and the doors are decorated with
half sawn pine branches. Shelves are made inside for storage. |
|
 |
DOOR HANDLES
The cabinets that I built in the bathroom
have wooden handles on the doors, and half-sawn branches for molding.
The counter top lifts up for easy to
contents below, and the cabinet facing is cut out around the sink.
I also made matching towel bars,
toilet paper holder, waste paper basket and wall shelf. |
|
 |
OUTDOOR GARDEN BENCH
Made from pine branches, and the seat and back are
made from driftwood found in Lake Superior. It is actually
comfortable to sit in, and very sturdy. No tenon joinery involved.
|
|

|
FERN CARVING
I used my plunge router.

|
PINE FRAME DETAIL
Small strips of branches were ripped on the
band saw to
place on the edges of this frame. It looks like "mini" lumber, and
the brads look cool too. |
|

|
BEAVER
or LOG LAMP
WITH WILLOW SHADE
You may not have a log
that was actually cut down by a beaver, but you can use any log to make
this lamp. The shade is made from peeled willow.

 |
BEAVER
or LOG LAMP
WITH BIRCH BARK SHADE
This is the bottom half of
the same log that the beavers cut down, only with this one I made the
lamp shade out of a birch bark tube.
Notice that the walls are
NOT actual log walls, but I faux painted the walls of my bedroom to look
like log cabin walls. Pretty cool, huh?
|
|

|
LOG JOURNAL
Use them to record visitors, make
notes, or for you truckers out there, this is REALLY a log book!
We also custom make these for sale. |
|

|
BIRD HOUSES
We have many different projects for bird.
From houses, feeders, and other tips and tricks, including a suet
receipt sure to attract your favorite birds. We also have devised
a special "squirrel-stopper" that you can make out of cheap materials to
stop squirrels from stealing all of your bird seed.
|
|

 |
TRUCK BOX AND TOPPER
Made to fit my 1999 Ford Ranger Flare Side,
box lifts open on both sides, and removable topper slips into brackets
on box. Box lids lock. It's on it's fourth winter already. |
|

|
TROUT
These look great on a mantel or a shelf.
Make them different heights to make the illusion of a school of fish in
a trout stream. |
|

|
NORTHERN PIKE
String up a bunch of these Northern's and
hang them on your wall. |
|

|
WOODEN BASKET
Pretty nifty basket.

|

|
LOG DRESSER
Using an old wooden dresser as a base, slab
wood has been applied to drawer fronts and sides to look like it's made
from logs. I forgot to take a picture of the finished dresser,
after it was sanded and varnished. |
|
 |
LOG HEADBOARD
Don't want to make a complete log bed?
Just make a headboard and mount it to your metal frame. |
 |
